Hello I’m Ryan Davis. I’m 22 years old and I grew up in a small town called Carsonville. Most people ask where that is and I simply point to the right side of my thumb. I live in a tan two-story house on a small farm with my mom, Karen, my dad, Mike, and my little sister, Jenna. My dad owns his own business, called Nature’s Best Topsoil & Compost which makes and sells compost and topsoil. My mom works for Exchange State Bank as a teller/operations manager. I am very connected with my family and friends.
I graduated from Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School in the spring of 2013. I was the Valedictorian of my class with a 3.95 GPA. I was very active in high school. I graduated with many academic and athletic awards. I was a part of National Honor Society and Youth Advisory Council of Sanilac County. I volunteered for blood drives, passing out presents to my community, food distributions, and Cardboard City. I believe that sports and education go hand in hand because they can teach a person the ways of life and the meaning of “Family.” I was a member of the football, basketball, and baseball teams while in school and eventually became a Scholar Athlete at the end of my high school career. I was part of a back to back state championship 8-man football. You may have never heard of it before or say 8-man football isn’t real, but it is. Just watch it and you will see there is no real difference and just maybe you might like it more than 11-man. I was part of a basketball team that won the North Central Thumb League South Division four times in a row and Class D Districts three times in a row. I was part of a baseball team that won a North Central Thumb League South Division in 20 years. While I was a part of that miraculous journey I managed to earn multiple 1st Team All-Leagues, 1st Team All-Counties, 1st Team All-Thumb, and I own a record at my high school for the most receptions in a season with 52.
Recently I have just finished my 4th year at Central Michigan University. My most recent professional experience was with Peak Performance Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapy Technician in Lansing, Michigan. There I helped facilitate exercises that the physical therapist prescribed to their clients. Currently I am interning at Thumb Elite Athletics which will complete my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Health Fitness from Central Michigan University. In the fall I will be attending Grand Valley State University to pursue my doctoral degree in physical therapy.
